Pastor Alexander Whitfield has been in full-time ministry since 1997.  He previously served as the Senior Pastor of Trinity Lutheran in Harvey, Illinois and Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Canton, Michigan and was the Preaching and Men’s Pastor at Brookfield Lutheran, in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
 

After Jesus changed his life during high school, Pastor Whitfield knew as early as his sophomore year that God was calling him into full-time ministry. Whether preaching, providing counsel or comfort to his congregation, or helping people grow in their relationship with Christ, Pastor Whitfield takes great joy in being a pastor and loves being able to get to know each member of his congregation and take part in their lives.

 

An engaging communicator of God’s Word, Pastor Whitfield’s congregants enjoy his use of humor and stories in his preaching. He is known for his deep love of family and his willingness to listen.

 

Pastor Whitfield is a native of Country Club Hills Illinois, near Chicago, where his three siblings all live. He studied at Concordia College in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Communication. He then earned Master of Divinity degree at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri and his Doctorate of Ministry degree from North American Baptist Seminary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. 

 

He and his wife, Kristin, have been married since 2001. They are the proud parents of three children – Tristan (18), Sebastian (16) and Alexa (12) and a beautiful Goldendoodle named Ace.  He’s also the author of Shaping Sermons for the once Churched and a is a certified BBQ judge!
