Elder Jason Samuel has been an LCMS congregant for nearly 10 years. He was born in New York City, and moved to Virginia Beach as a young child. His father, Kenneth Samuel, is a native of the Bronx, New York, and his mother, Marcia Thorne, is a native of Trinidad and Tobago.

 

Jason holds an associate’s degree from John Tyler Community College, a bachelor’s degree from Kaplan University, and a juris doctor from the Pennsylvania State University. He married Rebekah in 2014, and together they have served in a variety of roles in their local churches, primarily in music ministry.

 

Jason is an active duty judge advocate in the U.S. Marines, and currently works as a prosecutor on Naval Station Norfolk. At Hope, Jason has served as a Lay Leader, Sunday School Teacher, and Pianist.
