Fred Foard

Elder Frederick “Fred” Foard is a life-time member of LCMS, having been born into a 2nd-generation LCMS family. He is named after his grandfather – Rev. Frederick Hiram Foard – who served as an LCMS church-planter and pastor in the South. Fred’s father – Rev. Dr. Howard A. Foard -- followed his father into LCMS ministry serving as Pastor to St. Luke in High Point, NC, and St. Peter in Chicago, where Fred completed elementary schooling at St. Peter Elementary school.

 

Fred went on to graduate from Luther High South in Chicago. His undergraduate degree in Psychology is from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania and his Masters in Business Administration is from Capital University – a Lutheran institution.

 

Fred’s business career took him to FL, NY, OH, and PA wherein he served in several service and leadership positions in various LCMS congregations and schools. Fred and his wife Georgeanne retired in 2012 and moved in late 2013 from Cherry Hill, NJ to Virginia Beach, where Georgeanne has two sisters of long-term residency. He transferred his membership in 2014 from Martin Luther Chapel (Pennsauken, NJ) to Hope.

 

At Hope Fred has served as a Lay Leader, a Sunday School Teacher, a Choir member, a Greeter, a member of the Youth Board, and as the Worship Liaison to Council.
